Alaska Federation of Natives
The Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) was formed in October 1966, when more that 400 Alaska Natives representing 17 Native organizations gathered for a three-day conference to address Alaska Native aboriginal land rights. Originally formed to address land claims, today the AFN provides a social and political forum unifying 110,000 Alaska Natives.

National Museum of the American Indian
The National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) is the sixteenth museum of the Smithsonian Institution. It is the first national museum dedicated to the preservation, study, and exhibition of the life, languages, literature, history, and arts of Native Americans.

NOTE: Team members, Donna Foulke, Clarissa and Bill Hudson were there for the Museum's opening ceremonies and procession. Clarissa was also a part of the First Americans Festival in a regalia making demonstration of Chilkat and Buttons robe. You can view photos from the NMAI celebration on our photo gallery page.
